innoculations and a vet's exam today.

- All the puppies were wormed,
weighed, and had a manicure today.

0730, Sunshine and Snow! Denise was already up. Coming down the stairs, I glanced into the puppies' room. The newly-placed puppy play-yard was tumbled in a mess. Everything was knocked over or spread about. Thank Heavens, Zena managed to click Off the power strip running the puppies' heat lamp. No puppies were in view, so I turned into the living room. 1 - 2 - 3- 4 ...whew! All safe!!! The puppies were romping about on a sheet Denise had spread on the living room rug, climbing in and out of the padded puppy bed, trying to follow Zena about the house. Zena had her dumbbell toy and was prancing about, taunting Funan, who gave a little whine from the nearby crate. Of course, I loosed Chevy before turning to get a cup of coffee. That was the beginning of total pandemonium...puppies scooting and growling tough, Chevy racing around the table, Zena strutting ahead with the toy!
0745, Coffee and computer! Denise is So Good. Zena and Chevy are outside to burn off some energy, and the puppies have all fallen asleep in the puppy bed. We have a couple hours of peace. Zena seems to have strongly indicated her desire for separate sleeping arrangements. She's still really sweet with the puppies when they are together in the living room, where she can stand up and walk away from baby teeth and claws, but she's had it with anything longer than a few minutes. The puppies have been eating Puppy Chow mush for a week and begin the move to dry food today. The pups are ready and its time, so when Zena says she's had enough, we'll wean puppies.
